Excellent Rooibos tea

I have gotten to drinking iced tea made with freshly brewed organic green white and red (South African Rooibos) teas every day. It's relatively easy to get green and white teas that don't cost a lot but not that easy to get organic Rooibos at a good price. Well this one is excellent for sure and at a great price on Amazon! Plus you get an additional discount if you sign up for regular shipping every month or three months or six months which makes sense if you are a regular tea drinker like me. This tea has good body excellent flavor and very good color. Rooibos is best brewed at 190F allowing for steeping from 3 to 5 minutes tops. It has zero caffeine and reportedly has 50 times the antioxidants of green tea. It also has anti-inflammatory and calming properties and hence makes the perfect bedtime tea. Licorice Lovers--You must check this out!

Those of you who love licorice or anise flavor and who happen to be tea-drinkers rejoice! This tea is so flavorful and aromatic. The anise/licorice flavor is intense. The tea is relatively sweet so in my opinion the addition of sweetener is not necessary but you may want to add a little honey to it. Delicious and soothing

I first tried this tea 4 years ago when a friend introduced it to me at work. I was able to buy it at Trader Joes but they discontinued stocking it in my local store about a year ago. I then found this online directly from Stash and bought boxes at a time. I am a person who finds it hard to drink water but this herb tea helps me drink up to 10 huge mugs of it a day. Lemon and ginger combination is perfect to satisfy the need for sweet with a little bite at the end with the ginger. It has also helped me stop drinking caffeine drinks which lets me now sleep at night. I will continue to buy this and recommend it highly.More detail ...

A little "artificial" for ICED tea but okay if you like berries I guess

I love pomegranate I love berries and I love iced tea. Sadly I don't love this product as an iced tea. It has an artificial flavor that seems a bit cloying to me. Everyone's taste is different and this one just doesn't cut it for me.



Instead I highly recommend Gloria Jean's Passion Fruit (Amazon is out of stock). A very close second place is Gloria Jean's Coffees Tea K-Cup Mango-Flavored Black Tea for Keurig Brewers 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) for a flavored tea or Gloria Jean's Coffees Tea K-Cup Peppermint Herbal Tea for Keurig Brewers 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) for a mint tea.



To make iced tea easily in a Keurig you need a very strong glass that won't break when taken from boiling to freezing. (Crate & Barrel's excellent Large Working Glass is the strongest I've found that still looks good.) In a 21-ounce glass put your sweetener in -- 1.75 teaspoons of Splenda for me 1.25 t for my husband -- then brew a MEDIUM cup of tea. Add ice to almost fill the glass. Served in Fine Establishments and My Home

I first tried this tea at the Willard Hotel in Washington DC because they were out of the African Amber which I'd just finished drinking. Not wanting caffeine my choices were limited and I am so glad I gave this a whirl. In the past although I drink chamomile I've recently relegated my chamomile teas to use in the bath tub for a soak. My taste buds had confused the steeped tea with the aroma of dirty socks. Drinking the Mighty Leaf Tea Chamomile Citrus exposed me to a combination of flavors which are much better consumed and I had to buy some for my household. I only add milk to my Irish or English breakfast teas and I seldom add lemon. On occasion I may add a Splenda. I add nothing at all to this tea other than just boiled water and I do not discard the teabag after brewing the first cup if I've brewed it directly into a cup. I use the single bag for two mugs worth of tea and enjoy the second cup as much as the first. The "silken" bags have a white cotton string attached to a little paper tag and they are machine stitched for security. The fabric allows for full steepage and easy cleanup. Although the fabric will not biodegrade as quickly as paper it is lovely to touch and look at so I try to not feel too guilty by using these bags. I really like the combination of ingredients with the chamomile particularly the nana (mint) and am impressed by all the Mighty Leaf Teas I've tried.More detail ...

A NATURAL CURE FOR INSOMNIA THAT WORKS!

I've had difficulty falling asleep since my college days. Once I entered my mid-30's the insomnia became more frequent. Melatonin and valerian pills did not work unless taken at levels that left me with a morning hangover effect. L-Tryptophan 5-HTP and GABA were ineffective. I have also tried numerous prescription (sleep is necessary to get through nursing school) and OTC medications that are used to treat insomnia. Most left me with a headache or excessive daytime sleepiness (zombie mode). I first tried Sleepytime Extra (Sleepytime and other chamomile teas do not work for me)about 6 weeks ago and each time I drink it I become sleepy within 15 minutes. good tea but pricey pouches with enough for a cup not pot!

Mighty Leaf have positioned themselves at the high end of the tea bag market sorry I mean tea 'pouch' market. they do deliver good teas but firstly they are extremely expensive - its close to 50c per bag - ouch - and secondly some flavors have just enough tea in the bag for a single cup not a one person pot. Ginger Twist is like that try and make a small pot for one and you'll end up with flavored water. So what? well any high end tea maker should be aiming for the small pot (a tea pot is essential dunking the bag in a mug is simply not done for quality tea drinking!) and regardless if you agree with that or not at these prices you simply should be getting enough to make a small pot for one.



it doesn't apply to all their products but is something to bear in mind if you want to protect your pocket-book and favor the teapot over a bag floating in a mug of water.More detail ...

It's got its ups and downs

I have used this product as part of a several cleanses so far previously only at night but this week have been using it in the morning also a few times.

It says to steep 10-15 minutes. If I steep it any longer than 10 minutes I get some pretty bad cramps that wake me up a few times about 6 hours after drinking it and last about an hour (as well as make me need to visit the bathroom). In the morning it seems to take about 4 hours for it to work probably because I'm up and moving around.

It doesn't taste too bad at all and is naturally sweet. I tried the chocolate and thought that was pretty disgusting. I would definitely suggest brewing it for even shorter times the first few times you use it because if you are going to be affected by cramping is different for everybody and I remember the first time I brewed it and let it go 15 minutes I thought I was going to die!

Also honestly it makes you very gassy when you go to the bathroom - maybe it's just because on my cleanse I am not eating solid food so there's not anything for it to push out except teeny bits of lemon but this is good to know if you have a thin walled bathroom and don't want your spouse or coworkers to hear what's going on.

It IS very effective but really read the directions that it's not meant for long term use as it can cause a lot of problems potassium deficiency and your colon will get weak & have issues contracting normally when not being stimulated with senna.More detail ...

A Great Tea for a Change of Pace

Rooibos tea is definitely a departure from the mundane taste of black tea. It has a much different though still very pleasant taste than one might initially expect. It also has a very unique aroma and serves as an excellent complement to any good meal. The fact that it is naturally free of caffeine also means that it is great as an evening tea to calm the nerves and avoid the energy rush of caffeine-containing teas that could lead to difficulty getting to sleep. I must also say that like other k-cup tea varieties it is also well balanced and tastes similar to tea prepared in the customary manner. Tastes great but read the ingredients...

I picked up a box of this GoodEarth Caffeine Free Original tea at a discount store lately. I drank several cups. I was really impressed by the intensity of the flavor. How could it be so sweet with no sugar? If you look at the packaging it "looks" natural and healthy but then read the ingredients - number three is "ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR." Considering that the order of the ingredient listing indicates relative percentage of contents a significant portion of this tea is "Artifical Flavor." Which means what? What the heck is it made of? Who knows - this stuff is getting tossed in the trash and I'll never trust GoodEarth again. By the way this is manufactured by Tata Enterprises out of India - you might want to do some research about them.More detail ...
